Customize Your Home ScreenPersonalizing the Home screen on your Pixel 8a makes daily tasks easier. Add, remove, or arrange apps, use widgets, or set a wallpaper that matches your style.
Add Apps
- From a Home screen, swipe up from the middle to display all apps.
- Touch and hold an app.
- Drag-and-drop the shortcut onto the preferred Home screen location.
Add Widgets
- From a Home screen, touch and hold an empty space.
- TapWidgets.
- Select a category then touch and hold a widget
- Drag-and-drop the widget onto the preferred Home screen location.
- If applicable, tap additional options to activate the widget.
Add / Remove Folders
- From a Home screen, touch and hold an app (e.g., Calendar).
- Drag the app onto another app (e.g., Gmail) then release it to create the folder.
- Do one of the following:
- To rename a folder:
- Tap the folder.
- Tap theTitle bar.
- Enter a name for the folder then tap theCheckmark icon.
- To remove a folder:
- Drag the app(s) out of an existing folder until the folder disappears.
Remove Apps / Widgets
- From a Home screen, touch and hold the item (e.g., widget, app, etc.).
- Drag the item to 'Remove' at the top of the screen then release.
Set Wallpaper
- Touch and hold a blank space on a Home screen.
- TapWallpaper & style.
- TapMore wallpapersthen select the desired wallpaper category from the available folders (e.g., My photos, Landscapes, etc.).
- Select an image.
- Tap Home screen or Lock screen on the Preview screen to review.
- TapSet wallpaper.
- Tap to select the screen(s) to set wallpaper:
- Home screen
- Lock screen
- Both
- TapSet.
