Add / Remove a Wi-Fi Connection

Connect your moto g 5G to a visible or hidden Wi-Fi network or remove a saved one. This can help with troubleshooting or make it easier to connect to networks you use.

Steps

  1. Open the
    Settings app
    .
  2. Navigate:
    Network & internet
    Wi-Fi
    .
  3. Ensure the Wi-Fi switch is turned on then do one of the following:
    • To connect to an available Wi-Fi network:
      1. Tap the preferred network.
      2. If prompted, enter the password then tap
        Connect
        .
    • To manually connect to a Wi-Fi network:
      1. Tap
        Add network
        .
      2. From the Network name SSID field, enter the network name.
      3. From the Security field, tap the
        Dropdown menu
        .
      4. Tap the applicable security option (e.g. Enhanced Open, WEP WPA / WPA2- Personal).
      5. If prompted, enter the password into the Password field.
      6. Tap
        Advanced options
        , ensure all additional settings (e.g., Proxy, IP Settings, etc.) are configured as needed then tap
        Save
        .
    • To remove a Wi-Fi connection:
      1. Tap
        Saved networks
        .
      2. Tap the applicable network then tap
        Forget
        .
