Transfer SIM / eSIM (Bring Your Own Device)Transferring your SIM card or eSIM ensures you keep your existing phone number and service when activating your Pixel BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) smartphone.
Before you begin
Verify you have the source and target Android™ devices. The source device is the previous Android device with an active line. The target device is the BYOD Pixel device that you want to transfer the eSIM or physical SIM to.
The BYOD device must be unlocked. Only unlocked devices are eligible for dual SIM functionality.
Ensure both devices are updated to Android 10 or higher and Google Play Services on version V23.45.23 or higher, are connected to Wi-Fi and have a passcode.
Both devices must be charged and kept close together while the SIM / eSIM transfers.
Transfer During Initial Setup - QR Code
- During initial device setup, from the Set up using another device screen, tapPixel or Android device.
- From the target device, open the QS scanner and scan the QR code in the new device.
- From the source device, select a SIM to transfer then tapNext.
- Verify SIM phone number then tapTransfer.
- To allow for the carrier eSIM to transfer tapContinue.
Transfer Using SIM Manager
- Open theSettings app.
- Navigate: .
- TapTransfer SIM from another device.
- From the Confirm your network screen, tap your desired network.
- From the 'Transfer a SIM' screen, tapPixel or Android device.
- From the target device:
- From the 'Transfer SIM' prompt, tapNext.
- Open the QS scanner and scan the QR code in the new device.
- From the source device, review the 'Verizon SIM transferred' screen then tapSettings.
- Tap the SIM name (e.g., Verizon, etc.).
- Tap theUse eSIM switchto turn on.
- To confirm, tapTurn on.
