Choose whether messages and alerts show in full, remain private or stay silent while the screen on your Pixel 9 / 9 Pro / 9 Pro XL is locked.

Before you begin

Lock screen notifications are only available if a screen lock is enabled.

Steps

  1. Open the
    Settings app
    .
  2. Tap
    Notifications
    .
  3. Tap
    Notifications on lock screen
     then select an option to turn on or off:
    • Show viewed notification icons
    • Show silent notifications
    • Show sensitive content
