 Adjust Brightness / Display Settings

By adjusting screen settings (e.g., Screen timeout, Display size and text, etc.) on your Pixel 9 / 9 Pro / 9 Pro XL, you can reduce eye strain, improve visibility, and extend battery life.

Steps

  1. Open the
    Settings app
    .
  2. Tap
    Display & touch
    .
  3. Do any of the following:
    • To adjust brightness:
      1. Tap
        Brightness level
         then adjust the slider as desired.
      2. Tap the
        Adaptive brightness switch
         to turn on or off.
    • To adjust screen timeout:
      1. Tap
        Screen timeout
         then select an option (e.g., 30 seconds, 2 minutes, etc.).
      2. Tap the
        Back arrow
         to return to the Display settings screen.
    • To adjust display / font size:
      1. Tap
        Display size and text
         then adjust the slider as desired for 'Font size' and 'Display size'.
      2. Tap the following switches to turn on or off:
        • Bold text
        • Outline text
