Add / Remove Face Recognition

Use facial recognition on your Galaxy Tab A9+ 5G Kids Edition to secure your device and personal info. If you decide to switch methods, you can delete your face data anytime.

Before you begin

Steps

  1. Open the
    Settings app
    .
  2. Navigate:
    Security and privacy
    Biometrics
    .
  3. Tap
    Face recognition
    .
  4. Do one of the following:
    • For first-time setup:
      1. Review the 'Face recognition' message then tap
        Continue
        .
      2. If presented, review the instructions then tap
        Continue
        .
      3. While holding the phone 8-20 inches away, position your face within the circle displayed onscreen.
      4. If prompted, remove your glasses than tap
        Continue
        .
      5. From the 'Face recognition' menu, tap any of the switches to turn on or off:
        • Face unlock
        • Stay on Lock screen until swipe
        • Require open eyes
        • Brighten screen
    • To add another recognized face:
      1. Tap
        Add alternative appearance to enhance recognition
        .
      2. While holding the phone 8-20 inches away, position your face within the square displayed onscreen.
    • To remove face data:
      1. From the 'Face recognition' menu, tap
        Remove face data
        .
      2. To confirm, review the disclaimer then tap
        Remove
        .
