Add / Remove Face Recognition

Use facial recognition on your Galaxy A16 5G to secure your device and personal info. If you decide to switch methods, you can delete your face data anytime.

Before you begin

Steps

  1. Open the
    Settings app
    .
  2. Navigate:
    Lock screen and AOD
    Screen lock and biometrics
    .
  3. Enter the current PIN, password or pattern.
  4. Tap
    Face Recognition
     then do any of the following:
    • For first-time setup:
      1. From the Face recognition screen, read the disclaimer then tap
        Continue
        .
      2. While holding the phone 8-20 inches away, position your face within the circle displayed onscreen.
      3. From the Face recognition menu, tap any of the following switch(es) to turn on or off (e.g., Face unlock, Faster recognition, Brighten screen).
    • To remove face data:
      1. From the Face recognition menu, tap
        Remove face data
        .
      2. To confirm, review the disclaimer then tap
        Remove
        .
