Restart in Safe Mode

Restarting your moto g - 2025 in Safe Mode prevents third-party apps from loading so you can determine whether an app is causing it to freeze, reset or run slowly.

Before you begin

An alternate method is available if the device is unresponsive or won't power on.

Steps

  1. Press and hold the
    Volume up button
     and
    Power button
     until the Power off option appears onscreen then release.
  2. Touch and hold
    Power off
     until the Reboot to Safe Mode screen appears.
  3. From the Reboot to Safe Mode prompt, tap
    OK
     then wait for the device to reboot and 'Safe mode' to appear in the lower left of the Home / unlock screen.
  5. To exit Safe Mode, restart your device.
