Add / Remove Face Recognition

Use facial recognition on your moto g power - 2025 to secure your device and personal info. If you decide to switch methods, you can delete your face data anytime.

Before you begin

Ensure a secure lock screen type (PIN, pattern, etc.) has been set up.

Steps

  1. Open the
    Settings app
    .
  2. Navigate:
    Security & privacy
    Device unlock
    Face & Fingerprint Unlock
    .
  3. Enter the current PIN, password or pattern.
  4. Do one of the following:
    • For first-time setup:
      1. Tap
        Set up
        .
      2. While holding the phone 8-20 inches away, position your face within the circle displayed onscreen.
      3. Review the instructions then tap
        Next
        .
      4. From the 'Looks good!' screen, tap
        Done
        .
    • To remove face data:
      1. From the Face Unlock menu, tap
        Delete face data
        .
      2. To confirm, review the disclaimer then tap
        Delete
        .
