Add / Remove Face Recognition

Use facial recognition on your Galaxy Tab S10 FE 5G to secure your device and personal info. If you decide to switch methods, you can delete your face data anytime.

Before you begin

Steps

  1. Open the
    Settings app
    .
  2. Navigate:
    Security and privacy
    Screen lock and biometrics
    Face recognition
    .
  3. Enter the current PIN, password or pattern.
  4. Do any of the following:
    • For first-time setup:
      1. Review the Face recognition message then tap
        Continue
        .
      2. If presented, review the instructions then tap
        Continue
        .
      3. Review the instructions then tap
        Register
         to begin.
      4. While holding the phone 8-20 inches away, position your face within the circle shown onscreen.
      5. If prompted, remove your glasses then tap
        Continue
        .
      6. From the Face recognition menu, tap any of the switches to turn on or off (e.g., Face unlock, Require open eyes, etc.).
    • To add another recognized face:
      1. Tap
        Add alternative appearance to enhance recognition
        .
      2. While holding the phone 8-20 inches away, position your face within the square shown onscreen.
    • To remove face data:
      1. From the Face recognition menu, tap
        Remove face data
        .
      2. To confirm, review the disclaimer then tap
        Remove
        .
