Add / Remove Face Recognition

Use facial recognition on your Galaxy S24 FE to secure your device and personal info. If you decide to switch methods, you can delete your face data anytime.

Before you begin

Ensure a secure screen lock type has been set up.

Steps

  1. Open the
    Settings app
    .
  2. Navigate:
    Lock screen and AOD
    Screen lock and biometrics
    .
  3. Enter the current PIN, password or pattern.
  4. Tap
    Face recognition
     then do one of the following:
    • For first-time setup:
      1. From the Face recognition screen, review the info about Face recognition then tap
        Continue
        .
      2. While holding the phone 8-20 inches away, position your face within the circle displayed onscreen until 'Face registered' displays.
      3. From the 'Face recognition' menu, tap any of the following switch(es) to turn on or off (e.g., Face unlock, Stay on Lock screen until swipe, etc.).
    • To remove face data:
      1. From the 'Face recognition' menu, tap
        Remove face data
        .
      2. To confirm, review the disclaimer then tap
        Remove
        .
