Power Up in Safe Mode

Safe Mode is a diagnostic state on your Galaxy Z Fold7 that only runs system apps so you can isolate if a third-party app is causing freezing or slowness.

Before you begin

An alternate method is available if the device can be powered on and is responsive.

Steps

  1. With the device powered off, press and hold the
    Power / Side button
     until the device vibrates and the 'Samsung' screen appears then release.
  2. With 'Samsung' still on screen, press and hold the
    Volume down button
    .
    Wait 2-4 seconds after the 'Samsung' screen appears before pressing the
    Volume Down button
     or the device may not start in Safe mode.
  3. Continue to hold the
    Volume down button
     until 'Safe mode' appears in the lower-left of the lock or Home screen then release.
  5. To exit Safe Mode, restart the device.
