Google Backup and Restore

With automatic backups, app settings and personal data on your motorola edge are saved to your Google™ account, making it easy to restore everything after a reset.

Before you begin

When a Google account is added to your phone, previous backups are restored. This can be done by adding an existing Google account to your already active phone or by signing in to the same Google account while setting up your new or reset phone.

Steps

  1. Open the
    Settings app
    .
  2. Navigate:
    System
    Backup
    .
  3. If backup is off, tap
    Turn on
    .
  4. Select the preferred backup options (Photos & videos, Other device data) then tap
    Confirm
    .
  5. Do any of the following:
    • To start a backup, tap
      Back up now
      .
    • To change backup accounts, tap
      Other device data
      , tap the Google account name then select the preferred Google account.
    • To turn backup off:
      If Other device data backup is turned off, existing backups are deleted from Google's servers.
      1. Tap
        Photos & videos
        .
      2. Tap the
        Backup switch
         to turn off.
      3. Tap the
        Back arrow
         to go back to the previous screen.
      4. Tap
        Other device data
        .
      5. Tap
        Back up other device data
         to turn off.
      6. To confirm, tap
        Delete & turn off
        .
