Activate / Set Up Device

Activate your TAB 8 NXTPAPER 5G to get started. This ensures you can send messages and connect to the internet.

Before you begin

If using a physical SIM card, ensure your 5G SIM card is inserted before powering on the device. You can add an eSIM after setup is complete.

Press and hold the

Power / Side button

until the TCL logo appears. Select your language then tap

Review the Terms and Privacy screen, select the agreement check boxes, then tap

From the Tablet activation screen, tap

Connect to a Wi-Fi network.

Select your region, confirm your age verification range, then tap

To copy apps and data, tap

to transfer your content now.

Select who will be use the device then sign in to your Google™ account or create a new one.

Set up a secure screen lock method (such as a fingerprint, face recognition, or PIN).

Follow the onscreen prompts to review and accept the Google Services, device backup, contact sharing, and Google Assistant options.

Review the Verizon Services screen, select your location and data collection preferences, then tap

to complete setup and go to your Home screen.
