View / Restrict Data Usage by App

Apps use data differently, sometimes more than you expect. Follow these steps to control which apps on your TAB 8 NXTPAPER 5G are allowed to use data in the background.

Before you begin

Some apps need background data. Restricting data may cause them not to work without a Wi-Fi connection.

Steps

  1. Open the
    Settings app
    .
  2. Navigate:
    Connections
    Data usage
    .
  3. Do any of the following:
    • From the Mobile section, tap
      Cellular data usage
      .
    • To see Wi-Fi data usage, tap
      Wi-Fi data usage
       in the Wi-Fi section.
  4. Select an app below the usage graph then view the usage.
    To restrict the app from using data in the background, tap the
    Background data switch
     to turn off.
