Customize Your Home Screen

Personalizing the Home screen on your moto g play - 2026 makes daily tasks easier. Add, remove or arrange apps, use widgets or set a wallpaper that matches your style.

Add Apps

  1. From a Home screen, swipe up to access all apps.
  2. Touch and hold an app.
  3. Drag-and-drop the shortcut onto the desired Home screen.

Add Widgets

  1. From a Home screen, touch and hold an empty space.
  2. Tap
    Widgets
    .
  3. Tap the preferred app.
  4. Touch and hold a widget.
  5. Drag-and-drop the widget onto the preferred Home screen.
  6. If applicable, tap additional options to activate the widget.

Add / Remove Folders

  1. Do one of the following:
    • To add a folder:
      1. From a Home screen, touch and hold a shortcut (e.g., Email).
      2. Drag-and-drop the shortcut onto another shortcut (e.g., Calendar).
      3. To rename the folder, tap the folder then tap
        Edit Name
        .
      4. Enter a name for the folder then tap the
        Checkmark icon
         on the keypad.
    • To remove a folder:
      1. Drag the app(s) out of an existing folder until the folder disappears.

Remove Apps / Widgets

  1. From a Home screen, touch and hold the item (e.g., widgets, shortcuts, folders, etc.).
  2. Drag-and-drop the item onto Remove at the top of the screen.

Set Wallpaper

  1. Touch and hold a blank space on a Home screen.
  2. Tap
    Wallpapers
    .
  3. Select a category (e.g., My photos, Image Studio, etc.).
  4. Select the preferred image.
  5. Adjust the image if desired then tap
    Set wallpaper
    .
  6. Select which screen(s) to apply your new wallpaper (Home screen, Lock screen, Lock and Home screens) then tap
    Set
    .
