Verizon Voice Gateway Insert / Remove Batteries
Verizon Voice Gateway
Insert / Remove BatteriesInstall or replace the backup batteries on your Verizon Voice Gateway to ensure your phone service remains active during a power outage.
Before you begin
Use only AA Lithium (Li/FeS2) batteries. Using incorrect battery types creates a risk of explosion.
If the telephone handset connected to the Voice Gateway requires external electrical power to operate, voice service and 911 calls will still be unavailable during a power outage.
To check the current battery level, unplug the power adapter to switch the device to battery mode.
Steps
- Remove all cables connected to the Voice Gateway.
- Push the small tab on the bottom of the battery compartment cover then lift the cover up to remove it.
- Remove the existing batteries from the compartment if you are replacing them.
- Insert four new AA lithium batteries into the compartment.
- Replace the battery compartment cover to its original position then lightly press down on the tab until it clicks.
- Connect all cables back to the Voice Gateway.
