Teletypewriter (TTY) settings allow text communication on your Verizon Voice Gateway during calls, which is helpful for hearing or speech challenges.

Before you begin

The Voice Gateway features two RJ11 ports, allowing you to connect a TTY device without disconnecting your landline telephone voice connection.
The device uses an automatic setting to detect connected assistive equipment.

Steps

  1. From the Home screen, press the
    Center button
     to open the menu.
    Use the Up and Down buttons to navigate and the Center button to select.
  2. Navigate:
    About
    TTY status
    .
  3. Ensure the configuration status screen displays None. This confirms the automatic Hearing Carry Over (HCO) and Voice Carry Over (VCO) modes are active.
