Set Up in Standalone Mode (Set Up for a Child)

Follow these steps to set up your Galaxy Watch Ultra2 in Kid Setup for a child using your Android™ smartphone.

Before you begin

To set up without restrictions, refer to Set Up with Number Share (Set Up for Myself).
Verify your smartphone has:
  • OneUI 5.1 or higher installed.
  • the Bluetooth® setting turned on.
  • a network connection and cellular or Wi-Fi is enabled.
  • the Google account dedicated as the parent account via Family Link.
Ensure the following accounts have been created:
To set up with Kid Setup, the companion smartphone must be activated on the same Verizon account as the Galaxy Watch Ultra2.

Steps

  1. On the parent phone, open the
    Galaxy Wearable app
     then tap
    Start
    .
  2. If necessary, tap
    Galaxy Watch Ultra2
    .
  3. Ensure the passkey matches what's displayed on the Galaxy Watch Ultra2 then tap
    Confirm
    .
  4. From the 'Set up your Galaxy Watch' screen, tap
    Set up for a child
    .
  5. If prompted, allow the applicable permissions to continue.
  6. From the 'Set up your child's watch with your phone' screen, tap
    Next
    .
  7. If prompted to update watch, tap
    Update now
    .
  8. From the 'Get your child's watch set up' screen, tap
    Let's go
    .
  9. From the 'Select your Google Account' screen, tap the Google parent account then tap
    Continue
    .
  10. From the ‘Who will be using this device?’ screen, tap the applicable child account.
  11. To continue, enter the Google parent account password then tap
    Next
    .
  12. Review the Terms of service, select the desired options then tap
    I agree
    .
  13. From the ‘Set up parental controls’ screen, tap
    Get started
     and follow the on-screen prompts to review and complete additional parental control info.
  14. From the 'Samsung account and watch settings' screen, tap
    Onward
    .
  15. From the 'Who's going to use this watch' screen, tap the applicable child.
  16. Review the Galaxy Watch Child Privacy Disclosure to Parents then tap
    Agree
    .
  17. Review the agreements and policies, tap (check)
    I agree to all (optional)
     then tap
    Continue
    .
  18. When the 'Set an unlock PIN or pattern for your child' screen appears, from the watch set up a Pattern or PIN.
  19. To continue with setup, follow the on-screen prompts (i.e., Samsung Find, Automatic watch backup, etc.) to customize additional watch features.
  20. From the 'Get connected' screen, tap
    Next
    .
  21. From the 'Mobile service for your watch' screen, tap
    Next
     or tap
    Skip
     to add a cellular plan after setup is complete.
  22. When prompted with ‘Set up a Verizon plan on your child’s watch’, tap
    Use plan
    .
  23. Keep your watch and phone close together until you receive an alert that the Verizon plan set up is successful then tap
    Next
    .
  24. From the 'Set up Samsung Health' screen, tap
    Set up
     then follow the onscreen prompts.
