Follow these steps to unpair your Pixel Watch 5 from your current phone and then pair with a new one.

Before you begin

The steps below only apply when you need to connect your existing Pixel Watch 5 to a new Android™ smartphone. For activation of a replacement Pixel Watch 5, refer to Replace Existing Device.
Before completing the steps below, verify:
  • your companion Android smartphone has a cellular or Wi-Fi connection.
  • the Pixel Watch 5 is charged and powered on.
  • install and update the Pixel Watch app on the companion Android smartphone via the Google Play™ Store.

From the Watch

  1. From the watch screen, open the
    Settings app
    .
  2. Navigate:
    System
    Disconnect & reset
    .
  3. Review the message then tap
    Checkmark icon
     or tap
    Erase eSIM
    .
    The watch resets and all data is deleted (takes up to 10 minutes).
  4. Open the
    Google Pixel Watch app
     on the new companion smartphone then follow the onscreen prompts to complete activation.

From the Smartphone

  1. Open the
    Google Pixel Watch app
     on your smartphone.
  2. Navigate:
    System
    Disconnect & reset watch
    .
  3. To confirm, tap
    Reset
     or tap
    Erase eSIM
    .
  4. Open the
    Google Pixel Watch app
     then follow the onscreen prompts to complete activation.
