Google Pixel Phones
Turn Take a Message On / Off

Find out what a caller wants without answering right away. Set up Take a Message on your Pixel to read voicemails in real time, avoid scam calls and take over the call whenever you need to.

Before you begin

Take a Message turns off automatically when international roaming is active, your device is powered off, or when you are out of network coverage. The call routes to standard voicemail instead.
If using standard Verizon Voicemail services, turn Take a Message off to avoid conflicts with greetings, voicemail retrieval and voicemail notification.
If Take a Message is turned off, both transcriptions and audio logs remain stored in the Phone App’s recent tab or local storage and the phone reverts back to Verizon Provisioned Voicemail services.

  1. Open the
    Phone app
    .
  2. Tap the
    3-line Menu
