Activate Personal Hotspot

Activating the Personal Hotspot feature allows you to turn your Apple® iPad® into a portable Wi-Fi network, letting other devices connect when a Wi-Fi network isn’t available. A reliable cellular data connection is recommended.

Before you begin

Only the Account Owner or Account Manager can make plan changes / add the hotspot service via the My Verizon app.

Steps

  1. Open the
    Settings app
    .
  2. Tap
    Cellular
    .
    If you're already set up, Personal Hotspot appears as an option on the main settings screen.
  3. Tap
    Set Up Personal Hotspot
    .
    If you're prompted to set up the personal hotspot on your account, visit My Verizon app, My Verizon online or contact us to make the necessary plan / add-on change.
