Turn GPS Location On / Off

GPS location access is needed by some apps on your Apple® iPad® to provide turn-by-turn directions or share your location, but can be turned off to save battery life.

Steps

  1. Open the
    Settings app
    .
  2. Navigate:
    Privacy & Security
    Location Services
    .
  3. Tap the
    Location Services switch
     to turn on or off.
  4. With location services are turned on, tap the desired location service (Maps, Weather, Find My, etc.) and do any of the following:
    • Change location access
      • Never
      • Ask Next Time Or When I Share
      • While Using the App
    • Tap the
      Precise Location switch
       to turn on or off.
