Signing in to your Apple® ID on your iPad® enables full functionality with services like the App Store®, Apple Music®, FaceTime®, iMessage® and more, while signing out removes that connection.

Before you begin

For assistance resetting your Apple ID password, refer to this Apple Support Page.

Sign In

  1. Open the
    Settings app
    .
  2. Tap
    Apple Account
    .
  3. Tap
    Sign in Manually
     or
    Use Another Apple Device
    .
  4. Enter your Apple ID then tap
    Next
    .
  5. Enter your password then tap
    Next
    .
  6. If prompted, enter the 6-digit verification code sent to your trusted device or phone number to complete sign in.

Sign Out

  1. Open the
    Settings app
    .
  2. Tap the
    Apple Account
    .
  3. Tap
    Sign Out
    .
  4. Enter the Apple ID password then tap
    Turn Off
    .
  5. To keep a copy of data, tap the desired switches to turn on or off.
  6. To confirm, tap
    Sign Out
    .
