General Information

  1. Can I buy a Samsung Galaxy Watch or Galaxy Watch Active2 as an accessory or does it require service?

    There are two ways you can activate your Samsung Galaxy Watch and Galaxy Watch Active2:

    • As a standalone device with its own mobile number on a standard plan (not available for prepaid). You can send and receive calls and text messages from your Samsung Galaxy Watch without pairing it to a smartphone. To activate the Samsung Galaxy Watch on its own, you'll need to download the Galaxy Wearable app on an Android or iOS smartphone. Download the Galaxy Wearable app from Google Play or the Apple App Store.
    • Pair it with a compatible Android or iOS "host" smartphone on a NumberShare plan. NumberShare is a service that lets you use your mobile number on up to 5 connected devices. You can send and receive calls and messages on whatever device is at hand, even if you're away from your phone. Visit our NumberShare FAQs to learn more.

  2. What devices are compatible with Samsung Galaxy Watch and Galaxy Watch Active2?

    If you're activating a Samsung Galaxy Watch as a standalone device, you'll need to download the Galaxy Wearable app on an Android smartphone or iPhone to activate the eSIM. After you activate the eSIM, the Samsung Galaxy Watch can be used independently of another smartphone.

    Download the Galaxy Wearable app from Google Play or the Apple App Store.

    If you're pairing a Samsung Galaxy Watch to a smartphone via Numbershare you must have an Android smartphone running Android 5.0 or higher with at least 1.5 GB RAM or iPhone 5 or newer with iOS 9 or later.

  3. Which plans are compatible with Samsung Galaxy Watch and Galaxy Watch Active2?

    Your Samsung Galaxy Watch must be activated on a standard* Verizon Wireless account, either:

    • Unlimited plans you can mix and match
    • A shared data plan:
    • Shared Data Plan – 5GB
    • Shared Data Plan – 10GB
    • The new Verizon Plan shared data plan (e.g., S, M, L)**
    • The Verizon Plan**
    • The MORE Everything® Plan**

  4. Will Samsung Gear S3 bands fit a Samsung Galaxy Watch?

    Galaxy Watch Active2

    Samsung Galaxy Watch 42mm bands will fit on both Galaxy Watch Active2 40mm and 44mm. The Samsung Galaxy Watch 46mm bands will not fit on the Galaxy Watch Active2.

    Samsung Galaxy Watch

    Samsung Gear S3 bands will fit only on the Samsung Galaxy Watch Silver 46mm version. They will not fit on other versions of the Samsung Galaxy Watch.

  5. Can I buy a Samsung Galaxy Watch or Galaxy Watch Active2 from Verizon and set it up later?

    Yes. Our Samsung Galaxy Watches are ready to be activated at the time of purchase by adding a compatible service plan. Whether you're activating it on its own or pair it with another smartphone via Numbershare, you can set it up anytime.

  6. How do I activate the Samsung Galaxy Watch or Galaxy Watch Active2?

    Once you purchase a Samsung Galaxy Watch, you'll receive a confirmation email with a QR code. You'll need to scan the QR code to setup your Samsung Galaxy Watch.

    1. Download and open the Galaxy Wearable app on your smartphone.
    2. Follow the on-screen prompts to set up your new device.
    3. To activate your Verizon service, follow these steps:
      1. Check the "I have a QR code or activation code" checkbox and select Next.
      2. Use the camera or an app on your smartphone that scans QR codes to scan the QR you received in your order confirmation email or the QR code below.
      3. Wait for the installation process to complete.
      4. Once you see the "You're all set" notification, press Connect on your watch to restart it.

  7. I paired my Samsung Galaxy Watch or Galaxy Watch Active2 before activating it. How can I activate it on the Verizon mobile network?

    If you paired your Samsung Galaxy Watch via Bluetooth before activating it, follow these steps to activate the mobile network:

    1. Open the Galaxy Wearable app on your Android smartphone.
    2. Tap Settings.
    3. Tap Mobile networks.
    4. Follow the instructions to learn more about service plan and activate the mobile network on your Samsung Galaxy Watch

    Note: It could take up to 45 seconds before the Samsung Galaxy Watch can connect to the Verizon Wireless 4G network once it disconnects from your smartphone.
