The Handheld Gaming Tablet That Stole My Heart (and All My Free Time

Let me start by clearing something up: this is NOT a phone, although you can use Messenger and call people or download phone apps. You can also receive messages/alerts via “text” with its phone number, but it does not make phone calls unless you download or use an app. This is a handheld 8” gaming tablet that slides into a controller and instantly transforms into a portable happiness machine. If an Android tablet went to the gym, bulked up, and then decided it was tired of being used for spreadsheets and YouTube, it would become the Razer Edge. And honestly? I support its journey. ✨ The moment you snap this “tablet” into the handheld controller, it becomes a full-blown gaming beast. It’s like watching Clark Kent turn into Superman—if Superman ran ultra-smooth refresh rates and made Call of Duty (or your favorite game) look illegal levels of crispy. The display is so sharp I’m convinced it could cut my feelings. The controls? Chef’s kiss. It fits in my hands better than my remote, my steering wheel, AND my last situationship. And because it’s not a phone, people can’t say annoying things like, “Why are you on your phone again?” Nope. I just smile proudly and say: “This is a gaming tablet. Please don’t disrespect it.” Whether you’re cloud gaming, emulating classics, or pretending you’re going to “just play for a few minutes,” this little device will consume your life in the best possible way. Perfect for commuters, couch potatoes, and adults who need one more excuse to ignore responsibilities. 10/10 would proudly say “it’s not a phone” again. I love this and HIGHLY recommend it! Connectivity is flawless and very fast with its 5G capabilities, no WiFi required although it does support it.

Will break down constantly

Not worth the buy

1 undefined

Panda . 1 year

Do not purchase waste of money. Literally just sits there. Just waiting till I’m done paying it off so I can take it off my account. I asked about trading it in apparently you can’t don’t know if it’s true or not. But wouldn’t waste my money on this again. Wish I would have bought anything else. I connect my Xbox controller to my iPad mini it Streams better, looks better, doesn’t even compare to it at all. This Razor is just an outdated android tablet. You’re better off just spending your money on a newer android phone with better graphics and performance.

Still the best handheld, no question

I’m not sure why it’s getting such bad feed back. I play Xbox cloud (beta) and it’s the best thing ever!! Compact connects to 5G OR WiFi. I’m not sure what everyone else was expecting. I had zero problems setting it up, I used a physical SIM not an eSIM. I beat assassins creed origin on it that’s how much I play. The wording is a little small on the screen I’m assuming it’s because of the scale of the screen and streaming. I can connect all sorts of headphones to it. DEFINITELY worth my $500!!

I just ordered and received this razor edge 5g and it will only connect to WiFi it will not activate the esim in order to use the Verizon network.it keeps says device is not activated. I have to take it into Verizon and see if they can activate it or not.

Get an Android smartphone instead

Spaznutz . 1 year

It’s good for retro gaming but not much else. Triple A Android games completely drain the battery in around an hour. Given that this is a ‘gaming tablet’ Razer should have made the screen bigger and beefed up the RAM to at least 12GB. Storage 128GB is way too small, you’ll need a microSD. It’s a phablet without the phone function. Fan at the back can be noisy. Honestly you’re better off getting a mid-to-high end phone, unless you just want to play emulators. Disappointed.

Buyer beware

1 undefined

Adam . 1 year

This device has a habit of not being able to keep service in the device for the price point get you two steam decks or an rig, it’s a glorified android tablet, the only good thing and that’s barely a good thing is the kiddo controller can be used with any isn’t device sooo atleast when this thing is paid off I’ll have something useful from it, that being said it’s not easy on the hands it is an Android tablet with a decent graphics chip which if I’m honest get a Samsung and kishi you’ll get a better experience

Hot garbage

1 undefined

mtbmonkey . 1 year

Razer will not update this device. They do not support it. If you want to play the latest games on Android, get something else. This is worthless.

Will My IPhone 15 Pro work with the “Razer Edge”?

Verizon Customer Support2 months

While the iPhone 15 Pro uses the same USB-C port as the Razer Edge 5G, it is not fully compatible with the specific controller that comes with it. The Razer Edge 5G is an Android-based handheld that includes a Razer Kishi V2 Pro (Android version). Even though your iPhone 15 Pro can physically plug into it, you will likely face significant issues. -Sarge
