GizmoWatch 2 introduces kids to wireless technology safely. Only parent-approved contacts¹ can call or text your child’s watch, and the watch can’t access any internet content. Use the GizmoHub app² on your phone to easily keep up on your child’s Gizmo location on the map. With an SOS button, voice calling³, and text messaging, staying in touch with your child is as close as their wrist. And now, Gizmo Watch 2 includes a touchscreen keyboard for kids to type precisely what they want to say in their messages.

I purchased 2 of these about a year ago for my two kids. After about 6 months in, I was ready to upgrade them to something more robust, but right around the time I was ready to do that, GizmoWatch released several major updates to provide the QWERTY keyboard, group messaging, and that the watches could receive pictures. These updates were some of my main reasons for wanting something different. Things I love: - The ability to control who they can contact - GPS functionality - Although it's not the most accurate. We keep the "live tracking" turned off to conserve the battery most of the time. I can still check their location, but I have to manually prompt it to find the location. - battery life is pretty decent. They wear the watches to school every day, but don't use them much other than to check the time or text me at the end of the day about pickup. We keep the step counter & live GPS off to help with battery life. Things that they need to improve: - The app for the parents to use is a bit clunky. Even after a year, I can't remember what the icons mean on the screen or where I find various settings. I spend way more time than I should trying to find what I'm looking for. - The watch needs a lock screen. More than once, my kids have accidentally called each other (or me) during the school day because they've bumped their watch. - There's no spellcheck or autocorrect in the mobile app, so I have to be very careful when I type. You also can't copy/paste messages in the mobile app, which is a bit annoying - Would love for the kids to be able to create reminders for themselves. The parent can create a "to do" on the app, but it doesn't really remind the kid to do it, and the kid cannot create their own.

I bought this for my son to keep in touch with him after school. After two months it stopped charging. I have spoken to Verizon in at least three different instances and have gotten nowhere in terms of replacing the watch, which is under warranty. Just spend the money and get an apple watch bc this is garbage.

Really liked it to be honest the only thing was after two years of frequent use it stopped working wouldn’t pick up service even thought it is not broken or cracked at all but I’m very happy with the service it provided. Definitely recommend!

Thank you for your question. Sorry that this was not made clear to you, but you are correct. GizmoWatch 2 has Quiet Mode, while Gizmo Watch 3 and Gizmo Watch Disney Edition have School Mode. Quiet Mode disables sounds on the watch; in contrast, School Mode disables all features on the watch except using the SOS button to dial the child's designated emergency contact.

Our 10-year-old daughter's location showed up at a registered sex offender's (of children!) house more than 2 miles away! Nearly gave me a heart attack! It's a major security problem and after hours on the phone with various departments at Verizon, it's clear they don't care to figure out what happened or prevent it from happening again. Do NOT buy!

Great sound and so easy to use. Better signal than my iPhone… I’ve tried another brand/service before and had issues with GPS tracking. Not with Gizmo!

I am not currently a Verizon customer. I see the monthly plan is $10/month + taxes and fees. Is there an option for me to pay for a year of service up front?
