The Inseego M3100 has serious DNS and IPv6 problems out of the box. It ships with IPv6 enabled even though Verizon’s network doesn’t support it properly, which causes long delays and ‘server not found’ errors. The default DNS servers are also slow. I had to manually disable IPv6 and switch DNS servers to make the device usable. My web searches using Microsoft Bing were particularly troublesome.

The price is ridiculous. The cost is merely on the size not the function of hotspot. Function is no different than previous smaller Mifi (no longer available) that was at lot less. Battery drains fast.

It was a rough start transferring my service from my laptop but was able to get it taken care of by the representative via chat. Once the service was transferred, I checked for updates and started using it from there. I have not had any issues of it disconnecting or no service. I've only had it for a couple of weeks but am loving it so far.

We were looking for a way to get internet at a rural location and didn’t know this was an option. It ended up being a great and very cost affective solution. Other companies (Verizon also) did not mention this data only option for home internet. They all tried to sell us on home internet plans and devices. This data only hot spot situation has been perfect thus far (only a couple weeks into it.) The home internet sales teams don’t know about this option and we only came to it after much research. Much better than a satellite dish which seemed our only option until a spot on a tower came available.

I was in contact with Verizon about wanting to return this jet pack from day 1. First my local store was rude and told me he had no way to replace with another model. Then I called Verizon and then send me a refurbished shell without the battery. It still overheats, the battery only lasts one hour, it shuts off randomly, plus other problems. I called 4 times and every Rep said they would replace it with another model but never did. Then I called 5 th time I called the rep said he was crediting my account $50 and he will replace it when I have the tax for it. By the time I was ready to call the 6th time, thinking I had a $50 credit I didn’t have the $21 for the new tax. So now I’m paying $40/ mo which should be $10/mo full price for a refurbished unit that doesn’t work and is a fire hazard. I can not wait to get this garbage paid off so I can jump ship from Verizon.

I've owned this product for three years now. When I bought it, I took the time to read the instructions and started configuring it by turning the device off, so that the internet wouldn't disconnect. I did turn off the display after 15 seconds; I changed my SSID from Verizon MiFi X Pro to something very unique, McGarrett Hawaii Five-0, and I turned off the guest access to WiFi. I updated the firmware, and it now has a range of 1,050 feet. Yes, the battery is continuously used. I'm getting 4 to 5 hours of use. The speed ranges from 350 Mbps to 460 Mbps on the 5GUW. You don't want to use this right out of the box; otherwise, you'll have disconnect issues and give it a bad rating. Spend twenty to thirty minutes reading, and have someone help you set up the device; this thing works.

On the Device Touchscreen Wake the display by pressing the Power button if the screen is off. Go to the Home screen and select the Menu option. Choose Settings. Scroll down and select Languages. Check the desired language option to set it as the device language. Select the back symbol to exit the menu. ~Jorge
