Yes, I'd recommend this product.

Great mobile device no issues whatsoever. Mine lasts on average 8 years and I've owned 3 in the last 20 years. Never a scratch on the phone or cracked screen even when oftenly dropped from 20-30 in the air into concrete or rocks. I'll never buy another brand or type of phone as long as I live.

Tough but not tough enough

Have been a KYOCERA customer for several years now. Started with pro, then the pro 2. Now have the pro 3. Was skeptical about it since they weren't using the sapphire screen the last two had but figured I'd give it a try. Cameras are pretty good except in low light. Phone's fine otherwise. Complaint is that, while the previous phones both went 3 years without a scratch on the screen, have had this one a little over a year and screen is cracked... Always was proud that I never needed a case or screen protector but I guess that isn't the case anymore

Thank for your feedback. When designing DuraForce PRO 3, our engineering team carefully considered which material to use for the display and chose to use a strengthened glass instead of sapphire. The scratch resistance of the strengthened glass has improved over the years, so that it is almost as scratch resistant as sapphire, while still being more shatter resistant. In addition, it has better optical properties, including lower reflectivity, better transmittance, and improved color gamut & contrast. So, DuraForce PRO 3 display will look better and be easier to see clearly in bright light while consuming less battery for the backlighting. Furthermore, DuraForce PRO 3 is designed and tested to withstand drops of up to 1.5m onto concrete, however, we do realize that screens can break under certain scenarios. Our rugged phones come with Kyocera’s Standard 2-Year Manufacturer’s Warranty. The damage to your phone may be covered under the warranty, but we would need to examine it to make that determination. I was given this phone as an upgrade to my previous Samsung as my work phone. The only good things I can say is it is a lot faster than the Samsung and it seems like a very durable phone but that's it. Ease of use is like using an iPhone when all you ever used is androids. Menu features and functions are unlike any android I've ever used. Some Google features are disabled so you can't set up awnsering and text features the way i want. Avoid this expensive piece of junk.

Yes, I'd recommend this product.

I was reluctant to give up my old Casio Boulder phone because I loved the durability. However, life forced me to adopt a smart phone some years ago. My first Kyocera phone fit the bill but soon became outdated and required replacement. I have been thoroughly pleased with the Kyocera DuraForce Pro 3 phone. Screen is adequately bright and scratch resistant, WIFI is good and cellular service is as good or better than my wife's Apple phone. It's been in the water several times and continues to work great without missing a beat. Camera and video is adequate, although not my first choice for important photos. Overall, a very good choice for my needs.

Told the Verizon worker I wanted an affordable and durable phone but for some reason I was sold a $1000 cheap slippery plastic phone that barely functions. Settings don't save, keyboard barely works and overall the phone just kinda does what it wants. I actually threw my first one because of how frustrating this phone is. Should've just asked for an iPhone.

The phone is almost like the old one but they didn’t help to get the information switched to the new phone. Said that they couldn’t do it. The salesperson was not a very helpful person. Have had the phone for a week and still can’t get everything switched over

Hi Porter! Thank you so much for the 5-star rating, despite the labor of moving data to your new DuraForce PRO 3. Fortunately, Android has a built-in method to help you move your data, and you won’t need any special apps to get it done!

Using your Google Account is the easiest and quickest way to transfer your data from one Kyocera Android smartphone to a new one.

Step 1: Prepare Your Old Phone (Backup)

Connect to Wi-Fi and ensure you're signed into your Google Account.

Go to Settings > System > Backup and make sure Backup by Google One is turned on.

Tap Back up now to ensure the latest data is saved — if you have the option to select which items to back up, be sure to include apps, contacts, messages, call history, settings, etc. In Google Photos, make sure “Back up & sync” is turned on.

Step 2: Set Up Your New Phone (Restore)

Power on your new Kyocera DuraForce PRO 3.

During the setup process, connect to Wi-Fi and choose to restore from a backup when prompted. (Important)

Sign in with the same Google Account you used on your old phone.

Select your previous smartphone from the list of backups and choose all the content you'd like to restore.

Now your apps, photos (if backed up via Google Photos), contacts, and settings will start restoring in the background – this might take some time, and the process will use extra battery power, so it’s best to stay connected to Wi-Fi and leave the device plugged in.

If you're having issues transferring photos and other files, try transferring media manually using a USB cable and your computer.

There are two methods for certifying a device for use in hazardous locations: a) Intrinsically Safe or b) Non-Incendive. DuraForce PRO 3 has been certified for Hazardous Locations - Non-Incendive, Class I Div 2, Group A, B, C, D; T4. You should contact your safety officer to determine which hazardous locations you will be working in and compare that to this certification.
