Google Nest Doorbell 2nd Gen Wired FAQs

How to get to the back of door bell to reset
Great question, Paul. Here’s how to reset the Nest Doorbell (Wired, 2nd gen): 1. Use the hex key that came with your doorbell into the screw at the top of the doorbell. A thumb tack or paper clip can also work. 2. Locate the reset pin hole on the back of the doorbell. The reset pin on the Nest Doorbell 2nd gen (wired) is located above the QR code on the back of the doorbell. 3. Press and hold for five seconds. 4. Your doorbell will restart, and the status light will be a steady and solid white. Here’s a link with more information: https://support.google.com/googlenest/answer/9252162? For Nest Doorbell (Wired): Locate the release pin: On the back of the wired doorbell, near the top, there is a small hole. Detach the doorbell: Use a tool (like a paperclip or the Nest Doorbell removal tool) to depress the release pin while gently pulling the doorbell away from the mount. Locate the reset button: For the 2nd generation wired doorbell, the reset button is located above the QR code on the back. Press and hold: Insert and hold the reset tool (paperclip or similar) for 10-12 seconds. Observe the lights: The status light will blink yellow, then turn solid yellow, indicating the reset is in progress. Release the button: Once the light is solid yellow, release the button. Wait for confirmation: The doorbell will chime and the light ring will start slowly pulsing blue, indicating a successful reset. Does this doorbell have 180° viewing?
Hey there, John! Thanks for your interest. The Nest Doorbell (battery) has a 145° diagonal field of view at 3:4 aspect ratio. It is intended so you can see people from head to toe, and packages left on the ground. See the full list of technical specifications here: https://support.google.com/googlenest/answer/9259110
The Nest Doorbell (wired) has the same camera setup as its battery-powered sibling. That means you get a 145-degree field of view with a 3:4 aspect ratio (taller than it is wide), with a resolution of 960 x 1280 with a max frame rate of 30 frames per second.
