Do you need Internet to operate it?

Thanks for asking. The Nest Temperature Sensor doesn’t require an internet connection but connects to your Nest Learning Thermostat (3rd or 4th gen) and Nest Thermostat E over Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) and has a range of about 50 ft (15 m). The Google Temperature Sensor (2nd gen) uses a Bluetooth Low Energy connection, and does not need internet. It requires the Google Home and Nest apps to operate on a smartphone. -John
