Phone started great. 8 months in, my battery would get down to 65% and just shut off and not turn back on. Plug it in and no charge light. I removed the battery and put it back in, then plugged it in and it started charging from 0 charge. Phone gets extremely hot when charging in a car. I was wanting a durable phone for working in the gas and oil fields. I don't recommend this phone.

Based on customer feedback, our mechanical engineers designed DuraForce PRO 3 to be smaller, lighter, and with a removable battery while still meeting the same drop and waterproof tests. It is easier to hold and carry. Since it is lighter than DuraForce Ultra, it lands with less force, so it withstands drops better. The raised, reinforced edges and corners take the brunt of impacts and a cover that flexes is less likely to dent or crack. We are confident that this design will satisfy the vast majority of users who need an ultra-rugged smartphone. Kyocera

This thing does nothing but freeze and lag. Thought I'd be different this time and get this phone after my note20 was drowned and it's been the worst experience. Will never stray from Samsung again. 0/10 DONT RECOMMEND

However, the Galaxy Note 20 has an edge when it comes to the processor speed and the amount of RAM. If you used the default Android process and simply transferred all of your apps and files from a Galaxy Note 20 to DuraForce PRO 3, that might bog it down. However, if you were to review your list of apps and pare it down a little, DuraForce PRO 3 may serve you quite well. Kyocera

I've had the phone for almost two years and it's been ok for the most part. About two months ago they released the Android 15 update and the phone has become a nightmare to use now. Apps no longer stay running in background. Android auto no longer connects to my car without disabling and renabling Bluetooth. Phone constantly locks up and becomes unresponsive or significantly delayed to input. Mms messages no longer received. Phone reboots itself frequently. It's become a nightmare to use and I'm seriously disappointed in Kyocera and Verizon for releasing such a buggy update. On release 5.111VZ

My first phone with Verizon was a Android 3. I shattered the screen with otter box within 24 hours and then again within a week of replacement. It was suggested I my like the Kyocera. It was a flip phone. Loved it. Trade in for the latest Kyocera to keep up with the technology of 3g. Had that one for ten years until 4g. The last one I had for 3 years until I needed an operating system of at least an 11. Now I have this one for two years now. I have dropped them all from 12 feet and into 8 inches of water and never had a problem. This is probably the most indestructible to date. I love that it is very water resistant one yet. I really glad this has the ability to change out the battery, if and when it may be necessary. This battery has lasted me for up to 2 days. I recommend to occasionally clear temporary files and restart every so often to get updates. I think the photos it takes are pretty good. Remember this phone is for people like me that destroy other phones, because they are like banana's in my hands. I have dropped this phone many times, even on concrete screen down. No scratches or cracks anywhere.

Great mobile device no issues whatsoever. Mine lasts on average 8 years and I've owned 3 in the last 20 years. Never a scratch on the phone or cracked screen even when oftenly dropped from 20-30 in the air into concrete or rocks. I'll never buy another brand or type of phone as long as I live.

Tough but not tough enough

Have been a KYOCERA customer for several years now. Started with pro, then the pro 2. Now have the pro 3. Was skeptical about it since they weren't using the sapphire screen the last two had but figured I'd give it a try. Cameras are pretty good except in low light. Phone's fine otherwise. Complaint is that, while the previous phones both went 3 years without a scratch on the screen, have had this one a little over a year and screen is cracked... Always was proud that I never needed a case or screen protector but I guess that isn't the case anymore

Thank for your feedback. When designing DuraForce PRO 3, our engineering team carefully considered which material to use for the display and chose to use a strengthened glass instead of sapphire. The scratch resistance of the strengthened glass has improved over the years, so that it is almost as scratch resistant as sapphire, while still being more shatter resistant. In addition, it has better optical properties, including lower reflectivity, better transmittance, and improved color gamut & contrast. So, DuraForce PRO 3 display will look better and be easier to see clearly in bright light while consuming less battery for the backlighting. Furthermore, DuraForce PRO 3 is designed and tested to withstand drops of up to 1.5m onto concrete, however, we do realize that screens can break under certain scenarios. Our rugged phones come with Kyocera’s Standard 2-Year Manufacturer’s Warranty. The damage to your phone may be covered under the warranty, but we would need to examine it to make that determination. Does the camera have an image stabilizer?
