Previous Issues Resolved with 2021 Model

5 out of 5 rating

Customer_AP · 14 days ago

Yes, I'd recommend this product.

There were some touch issues with this phone when it initially came out last year. It made me a bit wary about choosing this phone. If you're reading this review, the issues with firmware and software have been resolved with the 2021 5G UW model. The original from 2020 had many issues with touch sensitivity. None of these issues have been reported with the new model. The only negative reviews that remain are mostly on the Verizon website. If you go to an online marketplace, you will understand what I mean. The rating on this new model is much higher there and on other websites that sell electronics. I've had zero touch issues. My experience with this device has been absolutely positive. The phone never lags, due to the 6gb of RAM. It has all the wonderful features of my sister's s21 model, such as wireless charging, Galaxy Store, and an amazing camera. I am attaching pictures I have taken at night with this phone. I can do so much with this device from video chat and messaging to flawless gaming with Android and other streaming based games. Though you will have to purchase extra accessories depending on the gaming service outside of Google Play. This is my first Galaxy phone, but I've yet to find a feature I haven't enjoyed, that can be disabled or customized easily. In regards to the letters in the name, the UW stands for Ultra Wideband and the FE stands for Fan Edition. The UW supports 5G and high resolution video. As far as the Fan Edition goes, I would say many Samsung favorite features are there, without overdoing it to sacrifice functionality.

S20 FE 5g UW - Great features and works flawlessly

5 out of 5 rating

cah4096 · 15 days ago

I've been using my S20 FE 5G for six weeks now and am very pleased with it.  Unlike the problems and failures some users have described in their reviews, my S20 FE has worked flawlessly.  My wife got her S20 FE last week and it too has performed without any problems. It's responsive, fast, stable.  The 5G is super fast. I got the S20 FE to replace the Galaxy J7V I've had for three years.  The J7V was at the bottom end of the mid-level phones and has always been a slow performer, so I was looking forward to a better phone.  My wife got an S20 FE last week because she has had her old LG Stylo 2 for almost 6 years and it needed to be replaced. The S20 FE is sort of a hybrid between the S20 on which it is based that cost $300 more and the newer S21 that costs $100 more.  Not quite a flagship phone, but close to it.  I originally focused my research on the Galaxy S21, which is a higher-level phone than the S20 FE, but it would cost more than I wanted to pay for a cellphone. Before I decided on the S20 FE, I read several in-depth reviews for the S20 FE on cellphone review websites.  Those reviews compared the S20 FE with the S20 and the S21.  The S20 FE is priced $100 less than the S21, and the trade-offs are slightly lesser specs for the screen resolution, camera, and processor; and 6gb of memory instead of 8gb. Both come standard with 128gb internal storage.  'Pluses' for the S20 FE over the S21 are the S20 FE has a larger screen (6.5" versus 6.2") and has a micro SD card slot for expanding the storage (S21 does not).  Also, the S20 FE comes with a charger.  Both phones have the fast charging feature that uses a higher watt charger, thus you'll have to buy a charger for the S21 to get the benefit of fast charging since it does not have a charger in the box. We bought our phones on the Verizon website and received them by UPS two days later.  Our final price for the phones is $600 ($20 monthly installments for 30 months) each rather than the $700 full retail price.  Using the Samsung Smart Switch app, I easily did our own activation, setup, and transfer of the contents to the new phones from the old ones.

Do not buy!

This phone is the worst phone I have ever owned. It did a complete factory rest and wiped out all my pictures, contacts, apps, everything with the last firmware up grade. Now it doesn't even function as a phone. It disconnects 75% of my calls after the first minute or so on wifi call or cell service this is garbage. Forced to buy a new phone in under a year.

S20FE OR S20NO

Wolfman42 · 17 days ago

Constantly buggy. Kicks off wifi, overheating, goes into roaming and reboots itself all the time even during calls. The battery is terrible and the worst part is ram memory. Constantly having to optimize it and clear the ram because it will bog down and glitch when texting. This was the mistake Samsung should have left out. I hate iPhone but it take an iPhone before an S20fe

When I take pictures or video with this phone they are clear and perfect. BUT, when I share them they are grainy. Not liking that at all. But as far as the rest of it goes, I like it.

VZW S20 FE does it support the superfast UW mmwave flavor of 5G? Specs details on the Verizon page for this phone shows "5g band bandB13/B4/B2/B5/B66" but there is no mention of the frequency bands (n260 39ghz & n261 28ghz) which VZW uses for its UW.

What is the difference in headphone jack and headphone port? In one review you respond there is no jack. In another you say there is a port and you can purchase separate headphones.

Samsung - 9 months

Hello, Jennifer. The Galaxy S20 FE 5G UW does not have an individual headphone jack. For a wired connection, you would need a pair of USB Type-C earbuds or a USB-C adapter that connects through the charging port. I have included a link with more information on this device.
