GPS Location Settings - Android™

Here's how to view / change GPS location settings, which can affect battery life and location accuracy.
GPS location settings can affect battery life and location accuracy. This shows how to view and change these settings.

  1. From a Home screen, navigate:
    Apps
    Settings
    Location
    .
    If unavailable, navigate:
    Settings
    Security & Location
    .
  2. If available, tap
    Location
    .
  3. Ensure the
    Use location switch
     is set to on Switch on.
  4. Tap 'Mode' or 'Manage location services'.
  5. Tap
    Google Location Accuracy
    .
  6. Tap the
    Improve Location Accuracy switch
     to turn on then tap the
    Back icon
     back icon (upper-left).
  7. Tap the following switch(es) to turn on or off:
    • Wi-Fi scanning
    • Bluetooth scanning
