Apple iPad - Turn Background App Refresh On / Off

Here's how to let apps on your iPad refresh themselves in the background.
When Background App Refresh is turned on, apps that take advantage of this feature can refresh themselves in the background. For additional info, refer to iOS: multitasking and background-app refresh.
  1. Open the
    Settings app
     on your Apple® iPad®.
  2. Tap
    General

  3. Tap
    Background App Refresh
     then select an option:
    While enabled, tap the switch next to each individual app to turn on or off.
    • Off
    • Wi-Fi
    • Wi-Fi and Cellular Data
