Self Activation - Prepaid Mobile Broadband

Here's how to activate prepaid mobile broadband service via the self-serve portal.
Use VZWMap for additional assistance.
  • Device must be in a Verizon Mobile Broadband area to utilize the Mobile Broadband Self Activation portal. Refer to the Coverage Locator for additional assistance.
    If outside the Verizon Mobile Broadband area, please contact 800-922-0204.
  • The Wi-Fi name (SSID) and password will be shown on the mobile hotspot's display the first time you turn on the mobile hotspot.
    Default Wi-Fi name and password may also be found on the back of the device on the label.
  1. Power on the mobile hotspot device.
  2. On the computer or device that you want to connect to your mobile hotspot, open the Wi-Fi settings or controls and connect to the mobile hotspot's Wi-Fi name.
    Refer to the user guide for device-specific instructions.
  3. Open the web browser on the computer or device connected to the mobile hotspot.
    You will be automatically redirected to the vzw.com/activate page.
  4. If prompted, select
    Connect and Continue
    .
  5. From the 'Let's activate your device on America's #1 network' page, select
    New customer
    .
  6. From the 'Plan type' page, select
    Prepaid
     then select
    Next
    .
  7. Click
    Select this plan
     under the appropriate data plan.
  8. From the 'Account Information' page, enter the required info then select
    Next
    :
    • First Name
    • Last Name
    • Billing Phone Number
    • Email
    • Confirm Email
  9. From the 'Billing Information' page, enter your billing info then select
    Next
    :
    • Address
    • Zip Code
    • City
    • State
  10. From the 'Payment Options' page, select the appropriate payment option then select
    Next
    :
    • Credit & Debit Card
    • Verizon Wireless Refill Card
  11. From the 'Payment Information' page, enter the required info then click
    Continue
    .
    If desired, select (check) 'Save this card to my account' and 'Enroll Auto pay'.
  12. From the 'Account Security' page, enter the appropriate login info then click
    Next
    :
    • Security Question
    • Answer to the Security Question
    • 4 Digit Account Security Code
    • Re-enter the 4-Digit Code
  13. From the 'Account Review' page, review the selections and agree to the Verizon Wireless Customer Agreement then select
    Confirm
    .
  14. Restart your mobile hotspot. Service activation may take up to 15 minutes.
