Gmail for Android - Delete Messages

Here's how to delete Gmail messages from your Android smartphone / tablet.
  • If Gmail™ runs out of storage, you won't be able to send or receive messages. Messages sent to your inbox are returned to the sender.
  1. Open the
    Gmail app
     on your Android™ device.
  2. From the appropriate Inbox, tap the
    circular icon
     to the left of the message(s).
  3. Tap the
    Delete icon
     Delete icon.
    To permanently delete several or all messages from the Trash folder, refer to Delete emails & recover from Trash, click
    Computer
     then choose the desired option. This process can't be completed from the mobile app.
