Samsung Galaxy S7 / S7 edge - Manage Hotspot Settings
Here's how to configure the hotspot settings (e.g., password, network name, timeout settings, etc.) on your Samsung Galaxy S7.
- Open theSettings app.
- Navigate: .
- Tap theMenu icon
then tap
Configure Mobile Hotspot. - Configure the any of the following:
- Network name
- Security (Open or WPA2 PSK)
- PasswordThe new password must be entered on the connecting device.
- Tap the Password field to remove the existing password.
- Enter the password then tapSave.
- Band (2.4 GHz or 5 GHz preferred)
- TapAutothen select a channel (e.g., Auto, 1, 2, 3, 11, etc.).
- Tap theMenu icon.
- TapTimeout settingsthen select an option (e.g., Never timeout, 5 minutes, 10 minutes, 60 minutes, etc.).
- Tap theMenu iconthen tapAllowed devices.
- TapAllowed devices onlyto turn on or off.
- Perform any of the following:
- To add a device:
- TapADD.
- Enter the Phone name and MAC address then tapADD.
- To remove a device:
- TapDELETE.
- Select the device(s).To select all devices, tapAll.
- TapDELETE.
- TapSAVE.
