Knowing whether an active voice call on your Apple® iPhone® is using Wi-Fi Calling can help you understand call quality and how your network connection is being used, especially in areas with poor cellular service.

Before you begin

Steps

  1. In the status bar, 'Wi-Fi' displays next to VZW.
    If the Wi-Fi connection is lost when you make calls, calls switch automatically to the cellular network using VoLTE then switch back when a Wi-Fi connection becomes available.
