Here's how to change the text entry method (e.g., T9 Word, Abc, etc.) for Verizon Messages on your 4G Basic Phone.
  1. From the main screen, select
    Menu
    .
    Utilize the 5-way navigation pad to highlight and the center button to select.
  2. Select
    Message+
  3. Press the
    left soft key
     soft key to choose New Message.
  4. Press the
    left soft key
    , highlight an entry method (e.g., T9 Word, Abc, etc.) then press the
    center button
    .
