Apple Devices - Resolve Windows Device Manager Conflicts

Here's how to resolve driver conflicts if your Apple device doesn't properly interface with your computer.
If you can't transfer pictures, music or videos between your Apple® device and PC, view this info on resolving Windows® Device Manager conflicts.
The below steps apply to devices running Windows 10 and Windows 11.
  1. From your Windows device, right-click
    Start
    Device Manager

  2. The following devices are normally installed:
    Depending upon the selected USB connection (e.g., Media device, Camera, USB debugging), some of the devices may not appear.
    • Portable Devices
      : Apple iPhone or iPad
    • Universal Serial Bus controllers
      : Apple Mobile Device USB Driver
      If a red X, yellow! or yellow ? displays to the left of a listed device, a conflict is present and the drivers must be updated or reinstalled
      Driver conflicts may also be indicated by a device entry labeled Other Devices or Unknown.
  3. Verify the latest iTunes version is installed on the computer.
  4. Make sure that your iOS device is turned on.
  5. If prompted with a 'Trust this Computer' alert, tap
    Trust
    .
  6. Restart the computer and the iOS device.
