Report a Number

Report spam and telemarketer numbers using the Verizon Protect app so you can stop unwanted calls, protect your privacy, and help improve automatic spam detection.

Report a Number from the Recent Activity Screen (Manual Entry)

  1. Open the
    Verizon Protect app
    .
  2. In the 'Quick Actions' section, tap
    Call Filter
    .
  3. Tap
    Report number
    .
  4. Type in the number you want to report.
  5. Tap the
    Call type dropdown menu
     then select the applicable option (e.g., Scammer, Telemarketer, etc.).
  6. Leave a comment to enter any details that may be helpful to others.
  7. Tap
    Report
    .

Report a Number from the Call Log on the Recent Activity Screen

  1. Open the
    Verizon Protect app
    .
  2. From the Call history screen, find the number you want to report.
  3. Tap the
    3-dot menu
     then tap
    Report caller
    .
  4. Tap the
    Call type dropdown menu
     then select the applicable option (e.g., Scammer, Telemarketer, etc.).
  5. Leave a comment to enter any details that may be helpful to others.
  6. Tap
    Report
    .

Report a Number from Your Android Phone's Call Log

  1. Open your phone's call log.
  2. Copy the phone number you want to report.
    The process for copying the number to the clipboard may vary by device. Generally this can be done by touching and holding the number from the call detail screen.
  3. Open the
    Verizon Protect app
    .
  4. In the 'Quick Actions' section, tap
    Call Filter
    .
  5. Tap
    Report number
    .
  6. Paste the copied number you want to report.
  7. Tap the
    Call type dropdown menu
     then select the applicable option (e.g., Scammer, Telemarketer, etc.).
  8. Leave a comment to enter any details that may be helpful to others.
  9. Tap
    Report
    .

Report a Number from Your iPhone's Call Log

  1. Enable the SMS/Call Reporting extension on your Apple® iPhone®.
  2. Open the
    Phone app
    .
  3. Swipe left on the number you want to report.
  4. Tap
    Report
    .
  5. Select 'Spam' or 'Not spam'.
  6. Select a category (e.g., Scammer, Telemarketer, etc.) from the dropdown menu.
  7. If desired, use the 'Leave a comment' field to enter any details that may be helpful to others.
  8. Tap
    Report number
    .

Report a Number from a Notification

  1. If you receive a status bar notification advising that a spam call was detected or blocked, tap the notification.
  2. A pop-up displays showing 'Report this number?' and the number from the notification.
  3. Select a category (e.g., Scammer, Telemarketer, etc.) from the dropdown menu.
  4. If desired, use the 'Leave a comment' field to enter any details that may be helpful to others.
  5. Tap
