Google Pixel 2 - Activate / Set Up Device
Here's how to quickly set up your Pixel 2 / 2 XL.
To activate the device on prepaid service, refer to Set up Verizon Prepaid Service.
- If powered off, press and hold thePower button(on the right edge) until the Google logo appears then release.
- Select the appropriate language option then tapStart.
- From the 'Phone activation' screen, tapContinue.If prompted, enter the account PIN then follow the onscreen prompts (see Account PIN FAQs for additional info).If activating a new phone, ensure the old phone is powered off.
- From the 'Connect to Wi-Fi' screen, select a network then enter the password.If you choose 'Set up offline', you can add a Wi-Fi network after setup is complete.
- From the 'Copy apps & data' screen, select one of the following:

- Don't copyIf troubleshooting, choose this option and don't restore the device until all testing has been completed.
- If presented, connect either the supplied cable from the old Android™ device to the new one or tap 'Can't use old phone?' then follow the instructions.If 'Other ways to copy data' is selected, follow the onscreen instructions to copy content from another Android device, an iPhone® , or the cloud.
- From the 'Sign in' screen, enter a Google email address then tapNext.If you choose 'Skip', you can add your Google account after setup is complete.
- From the 'Google Terms of Service' screen, tapI agree.
- From the 'Google Services' screen, select the desired options then tapAccept.
- From the 'Set screen lock' screen, tap Next.If you choose 'Skip', you can set up a screen lock after setup is complete.
- From the 'Continue setup?' screen tapContinue.If you choose 'Leave & get reminder', you can finish setup at a later time after setup is complete.
- From the 'Access your Assistant...' screen tapI agree.If you choose 'Skip', you can setup voice match after setup is complete.
- From the 'Squeeze for your Assistant' screen tapNext.If you choose 'Do it later', you can setup Google Assistant after setup is complete.
- From the 'Always-on display' screen tapTurn on.If you choose 'No thanks', you can turn on after setup is complete.
- From the 'Anything else?' screen select an option or tapNo thanksto finish the setup.
- From the 'Get more tips & tricks' screen tapYes, I'm in.
- Once the 'Getting your phone ready' screen displays, setup is complete.
