Here's how to enable or disable Face ID for use with the screen lock and purchases on your iPhone.

The steps below only apply to the Apple® iPhone® models with Face ID. For Touch ID, refer to Manage Touch ID Settings.

Open the

Settings app

Tap

Face ID & Passcode

then enter your passcode.

Tap any of the available switch(es) (e.g., iPhone Unlock, iTunes & App Store, etc.) to turn on or off.

Tap

Stolen Device Protection

then tap the

Stolen Device Protection switch

to turn on or off.

Only available with iOS 17.3 or later.
