Remove Device Password

If you've forgotten your Apple Watch® password and are unable to unlock it, removing the existing lock is necessary to restore its functionality.

Use Your Paired iPhone

  1. From the connected Apple® iPhone®, open the
    Watch app
    .
  2. Tap the
    My Watch tab
    .
  3. Navigate:
    General
    Reset
    Erase Apple Watch Content and Settings
    .
  4. To confirm, tap
    Erase All Content and Settings
     to complete the Watch Reset.
  5. Tap one of the following (options may vary based on model):
    • Erase All and Keep Plan
      Choose this option if you have an Apple Watch Series 3 as it must remain paired with an iPhone.
    • Erase All
    • Cancel

Use Locked Watch

  1. Connect your watch to the charger.
  2. Press and hold the
    Side button
    .
  3. When presented with the SOS Slider, press and hold the
    Digital Crown
     until the Erase all content and settings prompt appears.
  4. Tap
    Reset
    .
  5. To confirm, tap
    Reset
    .
