Here's how to change the default Home screen settings on your Galaxy S9 / S9+.
  1. Open the
    Settings app
    .
  2. Navigate:
    Display
    Home screen
    .
  3. Do any of the following:
    • Select Home Screen Layout
      1. Tap
        Home screen layout
        .
      2. Select an option (Home and Apps screen, Home screen only).
      3. Tap
        Apply
        .
    • Adjust Number of Apps Shown on Home Screen
      1. Tap
        Home screen grid
        .
      2. Select an option (e.g., 4x5, 4x6, 5x5, 5x6) at the bottom.
      3. Tap
        Save
        .
    • Adjust Number of Apps Shown on Apps Screen
      1. Tap
        Apps screen grid
        .
      2. Select an option (e.g., 4x5, 4x6, 5x5, 5x6) at the bottom.
      3. Tap
        Save
        .
    • Add / Remove Apps Button on Home Screen
      1. Tap
        Apps button
      2. Tap
        Apps button switch
         to turn on or off.
    • Hide Apps
      1. Tap
        Hide apps
        .
      2. Select the preferred app(s).
      3. Tap
        Done
        .
Expand All
Selected Apps don't appear on the Home/Apps screen.
  1. Open the
    Settings app
    .
  2. Navigate:
    Display
    Home screen
    Hide apps
    .
  3. Select the desired app(s).
    Selected when a checkmark is present.
  4. Tap
    Done
    .
