moto g6 - Add / Remove Fingerprint Recognition

Here's how to set up and manage fingerprint recognition to unlock your moto g6.

For the fingerprint scanner to operate, hands must be clean and moisture-free.

From a Home screen, navigate:

Settings

Security & location

Fingerprint

Enter the current PIN, password or pattern.

Perform one of the following:

First Time Setup

From the 'Unlock with your fingerprint' screen, tap

SET UP

(at the bottom).

From the 'Add your fingerprint' screen, review the info then tap

START

(at the bottom).

Place your finger on the

sensor

(bottom of phone) then follow the on-screen prompts until the process completes.

Tap

DONE

(at the bottom).

Add More Fingerprints

Tap

Add fingerprint

Up to 5 fingerprints can be registered on the device.

Place your finger on the

sensor

then follow the on-screen prompts until the process completes.

Tap

DONE

Remove Fingerprint(s)

Tap the

Delete icon

next to the fingerprint you wish to delete.

If removing the only fingerprint, review the note then tap
