Samsung Galaxy J3 V / Galaxy J3 (3rd Gen.) - Manage Hotspot Settings

Here's how to configure the hotspot settings (e.g., password, network name, timeout settings, etc.) on your Galaxy J3 V / J3.
  1. Open the
    Settings app
    .
  2. Navigate:
    Connections
    Mobile Hotspot & Tethering
    Mobile Hotspot
    .
  3. Tap the
    Menu icon
     Menu iconthen tap
    Configure Mobile Hotspot
    .
  4. From the Configure Mobile Hotspot screen, modify any of the the following:
    • Network name (SSID)
    • Hide my device
    • Security (None or WPA2 PSK)
    • Password
      The new password must be entered on the connecting device.
      1. Tap the Password field to remove the existing password.
      2. Enter the password then tap
        Save
        .
    • Band (2.4 GHz or 5Ghz)
  5. Tap
    Save
    .
  6. Tap the
    Menu icon
    :
    • Create a list of allowed devices:
      1. Tap
        Allowed devices
        .
      2. Tap
        Allowed devices only
         to turn on.
      3. Tap
        Add
        .
      4. Enter the Device name and MAC address of the desired device then tap
        Add
        .
    • Manage Timeout settings:
      1. Tap
        Timeout settings
        .
      2. Select the desired option (e.g., 5 minutes, 10 minutes, etc.).
