Samsung Galaxy Tab A (10.5) - Activate / Set Up Device

Here's how to quickly set up your Galaxy Tab A 10.5.

For info on prepaid service activation, refer to Set up Verizon Prepaid Service.

If powered off, press and hold the

Power button

until the Samsung Galaxy Tab A screen appears then release.

Select the appropriate language then tap the

Start icon

To continue, review the 'Terms and Conditions' and 'Privacy Policy' then tap

In order to continue, you must accept (check) all items.

To continue, tap

If prompted, enter the account PIN then follow the on-screen prompts (see Account PIN FAQs for additional info).

If activating a new tablet on an existing phone number, ensure the old device is powered off.

Select a network, enter the password then tap

to add Wi-Fi networks after setup is complete.

To transfer data (e.g., apps, photos, contacts, etc.) from a previous device, tap

then follow the on-screen instructions.

If troubleshooting, don't restore the device until all testing has been completed.

If you'd prefer to set your device up as new, tap

to add a Google account after setup is complete.

Review the 'Google Assistant' screens then tap

From the 'Google Services' screen, select any of the following to turn on Switch on

or off

then tap

Back up to Google Drive

Use location

Allow scanning

Send usage and diagnostic data

Tap the desired protection option then follow the on screen instructions.

to add a Samsung account after setup is complete.

To complete the Setup Wizard, tap
