Power Up in Safe Mode

Safe Mode is a diagnostic state on your Galaxy S10 5G that only runs system apps so you can isolate if a third-party app is causing freezing or slowness.

Before you begin

An alternate method is available if the device can be powered on and is responsive.

Steps

  1. With the device powered off, press and hold the
    Power button
     until it vibrates and the 'Samsung Galaxy' screen appears then release.
  2. With 'Samsung Galaxy' still on the screen, press and hold the
    Volume down button
    .
  3. Continue to hold the
    Volume down button
     until 'Safe mode' appears in the lower left of the unlock or Home screen then release.
  4. With Safe Mode enabled, ensure Airplane Mode is turned off then test device and app functionality.
  5. To exit Safe Mode, restart the device.
